Sony won the toss and elected to field in the 20 over game played at Cypress Canyon Ground.
Parag and Hari provided a decent start of 19 in 4 overs. Rahul B and Samir followed and added to the score by easing some runs amidst a few boundaries. It was a day where the entire batting side chipped in with a few runs without a single batsman dominating the opposition bowling.
Sony is an improved team and the bowling attack today was probably not their best. They did well in wet conditions on a pitch that had more than usual bounce.
We scored 98/10 in 19.5 overs. Samir (16, 23 b, 1*4), Rahul B (15, 17b, 2*4) and Parag (11, 23b), Hari (8, 10b, 1*4) and Vijay S (8, 8b) batting at different positions in the order performed their respective roles.
Vijay S and Samir started the proceedings with the ball exceedingly well. 5 overs between them yielded 3 wickets having conceded just 12 runs. Sony batting line-up was on the back foot and crawled to about 33 in 10 overs without losing a wicket.
The asking rate of 6.6 in the final 10 overs was too much to ask for a team that has always been weak in batting. A few part timers on our side rolled their arms over towards the end allowing Sony to reach 80 in 20 overs.
Vijay S (3-10-6-1), Samir (2-0-6-2), Amit (4-0-11-1), Hari (4-0-11-2) and Suresh (2-0-8-1) had good figures with the ball.
It was a comfortable win giving us a 9-0 winning streak against Sony.
